The 47th FITCE Congress took place in the Institute of Education, University of London, from 21st to 24th September 2008. All delegates once again enjoyed the convivial FITCE atmosphere of high quality presentations and discussions as well as excellent opportunities for networking and meeting old and new friends. The overall theme for this year’s Congress was “Transformation: Next Stop… True Convergence?”
The theme of the congress was immediately addressed in the opening session with several excellent and thought-provoking keynote speeches. The Congress closed with a panel discussion on “Next Stop…true Convergence?” This considered issues as diverse as how to migrate all existing services on transformed next generation platforms to what is the business model for providing Next Generation Access Networks which will offer super-fast broadband. The panel had followed a very lively discussion in the previous session where the whole future of broadcast entertainment services was hotly debated.
A summary of the various presentation sessions and papers presented at this year’s congress is available. The full programme for the London Congress is also available for download.
FITCE members can download the presentation slides and the various full papers for each presentation listed on the programme by clicking on the relevant icons in the full programme.
